WTB: AR-15 Stripped Lower Receiver

Looking for a stripped lower receiver for an AR-15 in Houston or Austin area.
Prefer face-to-face transaction.
Brand doesn't really matter... I'm familiar with most.

Check the Equipment Exchange on AR15.com, or Gun Broker. I've seen folks selling them, but they're often at a premium - you just can't find them right now. Unfortunately from what I've heard from speaking to a few of the distributors, that won't really change very soon for the lower forgings. Billet may be your best bet right now, albeit a pricey one.

I've got a Smith & Wesson stripped lower I might be open to trade, if you have anything interesting.

There were a few lower receivers available at the gun show in Houston this weekend. $225 seemed to be the low price though. Almost twice the price of last summer.

A local (Denton area) FFL just put together a group buy from Spikes Tactical. We got them for around $225 shipped with Lower Parts Kits installed and they are to be delivered in January. The group was organized via the Texas Hunting Forum. I'll post a link here if he does another order.

With the going rates these days, that's actually not a bad deal. I take it there was no color filling on the lower at that price?
