I'd like to put CrimsonTrace lasrgrips on my Glock 27. Anyone else done this, how does it effect the concealment? I don't want to buy them if they cause an unsightly bulge. I use a IWB holster BTW.

This is not usually an issue with a good holster.

The laser also doesn't have enough power to cause injury unless it's shined into someone's eyes. The worst problem I've seen with accidental activation is battery drain.

If you managed to activate the laser during IWB carry and it was able to shine outside a holster you might look a little funny with red light shining through the fabric of your britches (depending on color and construction of the pants). I've never seen anyone in this condition, but I suppose it's theoretically possible.

I can say that i have never had a problem with CTC lasers on my Beretta. Unless you actively hit the button the laser is not going to activate.

I had one incident a few years back, I had picked up my stepson and a girlfriend from a school activity and was wearing my carry gun with the CTC laser at about 3 o'clock. My stepson set a bookbag on the console and it hit the grip just right to activate the laser. The girlfriend noticed the red light glowing and commented on it.

My stepson knkew what it was and told her before I could make something up.

You might want to look into going to Market Hall gun show Jan. 3/4 and get have a "hands on" approach to evaluating the CT grip as they are a somewhat different for the Glocks than many of the other guns. There should be a vendor there who specializes in the CT grips. "Your Defense", a real nice couple from OKC. Their table is usually along one of the center isles (facing west) about 75 yards from the front door.

I really want to go to the next gun show and check out the CT grips and possibly try out some more holsters. I'm kind of hesitant to go and face the crowds...

You may want to look into a LaserMax for your Glock, rather than CT. It is a guide rod replacement and works well.

I have CT lasergrips on my 23 and carry IWB with a Crossbreed supertuck without issue. I've found it very hard to activate the laser while it is in the holster. Be aware that the CT grips do fatten your grip a bit (the battery connections are on the grip sides, mine fills in my palms and I actually prefer the feel over the stock/non laser grip. Also, I believe that any CT grip purchase before 12/31 will get you a pair of batteries a year for life. They are also having a good deal right now.

I also had a lasermax guide rod laser on a Glock 37 but went with CT for my carry gun for the instant on. But, now lasermax has a new laser similar to the CT but with a much larger beavertail. The internal laser is nice but I don't want to worry about pushing another button in a defensive draw situation.

I bought both of my lasers from NightVisionSales and received incredible service and great pricing. They also honor all the manufacturers specials from what I have seen.

The crimson will be fine especially tucked into the minotaur holster from Comp-tac. They fit snug and feel great in all weather. Had mine for a year and half now with zero issues.

I have a CT lasergrip on my XD40. It doesn't affect holster fit or concealment one bit.

Oh, yeah, I have a Comp-tac MTAC holster.

This doesn't affect me, personally, but would the CT grips be a problem for lefty holsters? Or do they make a Southpaw version of their grips? I've only seen the laser on the right side of the handgun on their grips which would seem to be in the way of a left-handed holster.

I was just advised that the laser light that replaces the guide rod will void your warranty with Glock.

Is this so?

Beats me.
