Fobus delivery times...

On 12/23, I ordered two holster items to fit a 5" 1911. One was an extra holster body to fit my MTAC which I ordered from Compt-Tac, and the other was a Fobus paddle holster for the same pistol, which I ordered direct from FobusHolster.com, along with a paddle type double magazine holder for a 1911. Yesterday (12/30), I got an emailed notice from Comp-Tac telling me that my order was being shipped last night. Since I still hadn't heard anything from Fobus, I sent the following email to them yesterday:
I placed order# 4790 on December 23rd, and I got the confirming email the same day. I haven't heard anything since I placed it. Since a week has gone by, can you please tell me my order status, and when I can expect to receive my merchandise?
Today, I got the following reply:
Per your inquiry your order is currently awaiting processing. We have experienced a backlog of orders and are doing our best to get your order processed. Our warehouse is currently closed and will resume shipping on 1/5. Your order should ship out sometime next week. I apologize for the delay and any inconvenience it has caused you.

Have a Safe and Happy New Year!

Now, I'm left-handed, and I'm willing to concede that this might add to the ordering time, but so is 15%-20% of their market, and it doesn't make sense to not stock standard production items for left-handers. OTH, I also ordered a paddle magazine holder (an ambidextrous item) for my H&K a couple of months ago, and it also took an inordinate amount of time to arrive - almost a month. I guess I'm just being cranky, but that seems too much time for the kind of products being ordered.

Has anybody else ever experienced longer than normal delivery times dealing with Fobus products, or is it just me?

You ordered two days prior to Christmas. I'm surprised you got an email at all from them on New Years Eve. This isn't the only firearms-related company to close down their warehouses until tomorrow or Monday. It also sounds like you already knew what to expect having dealt with them previously, the holidays only add to the fact.
