in Edwards county off of highway 83 about 30 miles from junction, tx. I am researching how to set up electricity out there, at least a pole and a box i can hook into to start building a shelter of some kind when i go out there.
The neighbor across the road has a pole, would it be hard to do.
If anyone can help, low on funds, i would not mind trading hunting trips for this, at least get your buck limit for your license.
what do you think??

I think the first thing is to contact your power company. They may have to run the poles/lines back to where you want the power. Might be kind of hard to trade hunting trips though.

I have the same situation in Oklahoma. Process there is to contact the power company. They will coordinate a meeting with one of their field engineers and survey (very informally and briefly) the situation. Turns out, our meeting was very informative and helpful.

They provide (for free) a limited length of access (I think it's 75 feet in Ok). After that, you pay an average of $5 per foot (one time charge) for them to install (above ground) service. Cost includes poles, wire, and down line service (box/meter at user access point). I needed about 1600 feet so am still using a generator.
