A guy at the Cowboy Action matches had a 12 gauge double, barrels cut to legal minimum and stock cut to overall length minimum. Had a sling swivel on the forearm and one at the toe of the stock.

He used to break it open and sling it over his shoulder, hanging sort of upside down. Looked mighty handy... stock was too short to really fire it from the shoulder, it was more like a pistol-grip but cut down from the actual stock.

Ah, memories...
