I was walikng around Walmart today and noticed thet they have the Rem 770 with scope for 337.00. I have no experience with the 770 but I have fired a 8700 a few times. The 700's are niticabley more expensive.
What is the differnece inthe 2 rifles?

I can't speak too much on the differences, but can say the 770 is a fine rifle. I have the 30-06 and it took a hog at 200 yards (first hog I ever took and I was nervous as it was the first time I had used the rifle). The scope, while not top-of-the-line, is decent. I would absolutely buy another 770 in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, I'm probably going to pick one up in .270.
It's an inexpensive winner in my book!

I picked one up a few months ago in .243. I really like it! It's light, seems tough, and you can't beat the price. It's action is a little sticky, but seemed to loosen up after a few boxes went through it. I put a bipod and sling on it, with a ammo holder on the stock. It's fun!
