Police Chief John Timoney said that at least one man with an AK-47 "discharged numerous rounds, then ran around the corner. There were some more rounds discharged there from an AK-47 and another weapon."

More fodder for the anti gun people.
"These are weapons of war, and they don't belong on the streets of Miami or any other street in America," Mayor Manuel Diaz said.

Again, I fail to see how an AK-47 or any assault weapon contributed to the commission of this crime. Yes this is a tragedy, yes a gun was involved, yes multiple people died. But how does the fact that an AK-47 was used differ from any other gun or knife. Wouldn't the end result have been the same? If these politicians and police departments spent half as much time protecting our borders and stopping drug traffic gun control may not even be an issue. Just my rant for the night. :confused5

If a drunk driver behind the wheel of a Jeep killed someone, I wonder if Mayor Manuel Diaz would say, "These are vehicles of war, and they don't belong on the streets of Miami or any other street in America."
