Ethics X 14

Well I guess everyone's heard by now about the octuplets born recently. It looks like a debate for the ages, at least for the new age of systemic socialism the Barry bunch has planned for our national agenda. Some say it's a highly personal matter between this woman, (an unwed mother already with 6 children before these last 8 were born), her pastor, family, friends, etc. I think we all know who the "etc." will be. I heard this event referred to not as giving birth, but as throwing a litter, and my instinct was to be saddened in general at the entire event. I'm sure this mom had instinctive feelings just as strong to have more children, and I can't speak to that. I just wonder how other folks feel about it.

An unwed mother of 14... My wife and I have trouble with our 2 sometimes
I think the fertility clinic that she went to needs to be investigated...

As long as they pay 100% to support the kids.
No welfare. No subsidies. No tax deductions.

Anybody got any idea how much money is involved with 14 ADC (Aid to Dependent Children) checks? But what the hay, what's one more bailout?

I was absolutely outraged when Congress up and decided to try to shove their nose in it back when the whole Terri Schiavo thing was going on too. That too was a personal matter that should have been between family, friends, and the courts when they started suing each other. Congress..... not needed or necessary, especially not necessary to convene a special session strictly to shove their noses in it.
Anyway... enough of that, that's a separate topic. The government does not need to get involved. If the woman wants to pump out 14 or 140 kids, that's her business and nobody elses.
This case is completly unrelated to the Terri Schiavo issue. I happen to agree with you about that case.
I have no issue with the mother. I have an issue with the fertility clinic that implanted 8 embreos(sp?) into this woman. If people are unwilling to police themselves unfortunately the government has to step in and do it. That is true of doctors, lawers, engineers, etc.
