This is how 1 person can begin to mess things up for the rest of us. Just wait until the Anti's hear this one!

Here's just part of the story:
Police charged Harry Coleman, 59, with second-degree murder Sunday in the shooting of Robert "Dutch" Schwerin, 52, after the pair argued over how close their vehicles were parked.
And the CHL part:
Coleman, who is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. today, was granted a state permit to carry a handgun in June 2006.
I know with any group of people there are bad apples amongst them. And verifying your temper is not the duty of the issuing authority. However, you should know your own temper and if it gets like this, maybe you shouldn't carry. I do hope this killer is punished to fullest extent possible, because you are responsible for your own actions when you strap that gun on every day.

Incidentally, the restaurant mentioned in that article is actually a very nice place. They do serve alcohol, so he was already illegal in TN if carrying in there. It's an upscale Italian place that has a pretty sizable wine list, so I question whether alcohol was also a factor. I have many memories of that shopping center from growing up. It used to be ourside of Memphis city limits until about 7 years ago when it was annexed. Since then, crime in that area has skyrocketed, and everything remotely nice is being run into the ground.

Is concealed the only kind of permit that TN issues? Just curious, as the article doesn't say CONCEALED permit... and he got the gun out of his vehicle, not off of his person.
None of which is meant to explain or justify his actions in anyway or downplay anything, merely curious.

TN is a carry permit, for concealed or open carry. Open carry can actually be defined there by holding it in your hand [in accordance with the 4 rules]. I must have missed the "from the car" part, which would have made that part of carrying legal. Still not convinced that alcohol wasn't involved, given the location.

Well I certainly HOPE alcohol is involved. That's some mighty anger to be harboring over a parking space without any outside influence. What an idiot.... sad.

But on the way out, according to Dallas, Schwerin and a woman began arguing over how close his GMC Yukon Denali was to her Hummer.
At that point, Harry Coleman joined the argument, which then seemed to dim. But then it boiled over again, Dallas said, leading Coleman to reach into the Hummer for his gun. He then walked back to where Schwerin stood and shot him in the torso, according to the police affidavit.
They don't say if the woman is Harry Coleman's wife or daughter or someone else. If he reached into her SUV to get his gun, I bet they weren't strangers.

Either he is incredibly lacking in cranial capacity or we really really need to wait for the "rest of the story".
