Is there a way to have your grips cut fit for magwell?

I'm afraid cutting them would make them too short.
They will fit a gun with a magwell they just won't be flush against it.
Magwell cut grips are squared on the bottom like this:

I like changing the grips on my guns like my wife likes changing shoes. I have 1911 in 9mm that has the magwell and none of the other grips work. This is my first experience with the magwell. Thanks for the answer.
