springfield 1911 question

hey guys and gals
i purchased a new stainless g.i. 1911-a1 today
my question is it only came with one mag
what is the best kind of mag to buy for colt kimber wilson or should i stick with getting the springers

this is my first 1911 and i love it

I am certian that I won't be the only one who says this... buy Wilson Combat mags.

another quick question

what do yall think about springfield are they as good as other under a grand 1911s
ive only shot one and it functioned flawlessly and all the reviews ive read say go ahead
so i did

You did good. I can't name a better brand of pistol for the price when it comes to 1911's. Plus, if you ever do have an issue SA's customer service department is outstanding.

Now that I think about it, it's funny that most of the top notch customer service I have had has been firearms related, either directly or indirectly.

Springfield, Comp-Tac, The Beltman, Knesek Guns, and a few others. That says something doesn't it?

They haven't all been perfect but they fixed the issue and then some.

:iagree: Haven't had one issue with any of my Wilsons yet. Good choice on the Springer too.

i went to trippresearch.com and they say the mags are now available for yall that want to order some
and wow they are cnc cut :thewave

The Wilson and Tripp mags are great. I use both for carry duty.

However, I will argue that neither of them can take more abuse than the Chip McCormick powermags. Repeatedly dropped on concrete, stomped into red north TX dirt over and over and they keep going. I've had the Wilson mags fail under hard use, the Tripp's never see that kind of abuse because they cost too much. :lol:
