I was just wondering if there were a need for more trainers in the area (I live in The Woodlands). If I got certified would I have a problem finding opportunities to teach on weekends etc? Anyone have any opinions of this?

I'm not aware of any shortage of instructors in Houston or its suburbs. If you enjoy it and you're good at it, I suspect you'll find ample opportunities to teach. However, don't go into it expecting to make much money.

As apostate said, there is no shortage of CHL instructors in the Houston area. I agree wholeheartedly with his statement to do it only if you enjoy it, because you won't make a lot of money.

One thing you should do before deciding to get your instructor's certification is contact various ranges in your area and see if they will let you teach there, and if not, will they let you use the range for he range work. Be sure to check the price. I know of ranges that set the "range fee" so high as to discourage outside CHL instructors. They do this to protect their own CHL classes and I certainly understand.
