Got my first 1911
Picked up a Springfield 1911 A1 MilSpec, in a Parkerized finish, loaded (dovetail backstrap safety, skeletonized trigger, loaded chamber indicator, etc)
What an addiction!!

I can definitely feel the 230 grains though......I'm going to have to go to the range in the next few days to break in the new gun.

That's the light side! Glocks are the dark side!
BTW, I have that exact same pistol. I bought it from HighVelocity. It's a shooter and a keeper.

That's good to hear, I haven't fed this thing yet, but I've got high hopes!
Agreed on Glocks....I'm not sure what it is about them, but just holding one feels wrong.

I feel dirty afterward....like I need to shower and can't use enough soap.

you feed the addiction..... 1 is never enough .....you will buy others .....
so many sizes, styles, manufacturers, finishes, custom parts etc to
chose from ..... it's crazy I say .... trying to fight it is useless ....

LOL, I actually just sold one just like that. I bought it used and ran a few rounds through it and let it go making $50 on it. It was a nice shooting pistol, but I think my permanent 1911 will be a 4" model with some options on it. It was really accurate but the sights left something to be desired for me. Nice addition though, have fun don't break the addiction.

I yielded to this addiction about 28 years ago. There are very few things that compare to the beauty of an elegant 1911. 230 grains at around 850fps inspires confidence.
