Went to Pasadena gunshow this morning.
Lots of folks waiting in line when I got there.
Plenty of EBR's. Especially AR's.
Ammo sellers tables were stacked 4 people deep! :eek6
Prices were only insane to outrageous on anything marked Colt.
Left without buying anything. :cryin

We drove past about 9:40 and saw how full the parking lots / grass were. There was still a line waiting to get in about 100' long.

The crowd appeared similar to a past show when the fire marshal was restricting entry because the building was at capacity.

I called a vendor friend inside and was told prices were high, ammo was selling out fast, and there wasn't room to walk in the aisles.

Since I can't find cheap dry boxes anymore, I asked him to price .50 cal and 20mm cans. That might be the only reason I would try it again tomorrow.

The line to buy tickets moved relatively quickly. It was extremely busy the first couple of hours, but by about 11:00 the crowd started to thin out some. A couple of large volume sellers were exceptionally busy. Yes, the ammunition vendors were extremely crowded. Quite the bottle neck in that area.

The Austin show was pretty much the same. I asked a dealer about a price on somethng. he gave it to me and then followed it with "unless I go up on it for the show". I left without buying anything also. Brownells is much better anyway..

I saw .223 ammo for $400/1000 rds. But I didn't realize these events are generally cash-only, and the Pasadena Convention Ctr ATM machines give you $100 a pop. So I said forget it and went to Gander Mtn and found stacks of .223 ammo (1000 rds) at the store on Hwy 290.
That Pasadena show was not in the least recreational.

I realize that it is a seller's market at the moment, but I have scratched a few people off of the list that I will ever do business with again.

On the top of that list is T.R. Graham.

You guys are brave going to that Pasadena show....LOL.

Honestly I was quite disappointed in the show.

When I saw a brand new plain Colt M1911 38Super marked $1895.00 my stomach started churning.
Typical price on that gun is <$1000 EVEN AT CARTER'S COUNTRY!

The show here in Austin is pretty worthless, too. Ammo isn't that cheap and sells out fast, and there aren't many "deals" to be had. I yearn for the days of the Olde Schoole gun-shows!

Don't really know about primers but I did see one vendor that had powder; but not a high quantity.

I got a great score on a 3-14X40 rifle scope for my .22.
Simmon's Master's Series for $100, list price $210,
