CCI vs. Federal Primers

Just picked up 800 Federal primers (first time I've seen small pistol primers anywhere down here in a while). I usually use CCI primers. Will I need to make any adjustments to my powder charge (mostly TiteGroup, some Win 231) since I'm using a different primer, or are all primers created equal?

The only adjustment you'll probably have to make is that you won't want to use CCI primers anymore.
The Fed primers are much easier to seat in my experience and their more consistent over the chronograph. You can also get away with a lighter trigger on your wheel gun. The fed primers are considered the most sensitive and coveted by revo shooters.

In my experience primers in pistol ammo isn't as big of a deal as in rifle ammo. I don't load to maximum pressure levels so changing primer brands has little effect on my ammo. Right now, I will take whatever brand of primers I can find.

I have to agree w/ HV & MoJo both.
I jsut dont care for cci primers but I have about 2500 right now because that is all I could find at the time.
Do like the Feds Next in line for me are Winchester.
My .02 cents & some think it worth about half that.

i have used all three, cci, Winchester and remington
as far as a difference??? i didn't have any oddities, i do run my loads for range/target and generally run a lighter load powder wise.
I.E. the colt i use 230 rn fmj
and 7.5 grains of accurate #7 powder

I agree, and third choice would be "Wolf".
I have not been able to find small pistol primers of any kind
and my supply is getting dangerously low.
May have to start using match heads.

Primers seem to make little difference in my pistol loads...but I load for practice ammo and consistency isn't high on my priority list. I am well into 5 figures worth of primers and have never had one fail to fire (except for one where I set the shoulder back too far on a 280 case and I can't blame the primer for that). Fed, Win, CCI, whatever, if you have a full power striker/firing pin spring it'll go off or you have bigger problems than primer brand.
If you're a match shooter that requires extreme consistency, use match primers and you probably don't need my advice for choosing primers...
