Taking Soldiers Hunting

Hey all;

I am new here. I have been a member of the Texas Hunting Forum, Texas Fishing Forum, Crappie.com, Take a Soldier Fishing.com, and a Moderator for the Take a Soldier Hunting.org site. I have several places to hunt here around Paducah as well as Childress, Texas. One thing I started towards the last of this last Deer Season was taking Soldiers and Disabled Veterans hunting. I had the Pleasur of taking one Soldier and his Daughter hunting before he left for Iraq. I also had the Pleasure of taking a Disabled Veteran who was in a wheel chair and his friend hunting. I am in no way near a rich man but the feeling I got from this was better than wining the lottery. I have decided to try and expand this and try and build 3 new stands and get 4 new deer feeders to be able to supply these Heroes a FREE place to hunt where they can get away and have a good time. As I said, these hunts are free but the materials are in no way free that are needed to build all that is needed for these Soldiers. On the Texas Hunting Forum, one of the Soldiers who will be coming hunting with me placed a flag up for sale to help with the materials for building the stands as well as the deer feeders, that he had gotten for the Morgue in Iraq where he worked while there. I as well as many others asked him to definately not sell it because it was something that he could share with his Children and Grandchildren one day. Some have donated money for this and some have volunteered to come up and even help. I am not really in need of a lot of help now but we are in need of the materials. I placed an item on ebay to raise money for the stands and feeders as well. If any are interested, the Item # is 220393122912 If any just want to donate to the cause, please feel free to pm me. I am glad to have found this site. I myself am working on getting my CHL soon.

God Bless

I myself have donated as much as I can to this and would love to see this program succeed.

Hi all. I am SGT Sean "Grey" Kelley, a Combat Medic and was the morgue NCO while deployed to Iraq for all of 2008 at FOB Loyalty. I am also one of the soldiers that Gordon/father of 4 has graciously allowed me to hunt on his land. I have been trying to raise funds to help with the cost of materials to build blinds for him to provide for all soldiers. I have inquired all over my installation for materials and have gotten some nice donations from the wonderful folks on the forum mentioned above. I am making it my project to assist Gordon as much as possible as this year will be the first year I have ever hunted on private land. I am hoping that some of you can spare a few nickels to help us out. As Gordon said I had offered the flag from my morgue for sale on the other forum trying to get a few bucks, but I was amazed at the folks over there. They all told me to keep my flag and sent me 10s and 20s. I was floored by the generosity of appreciative American citizens (notice they were all Texans, but one!). If you would like to help us out please send me a PM or email at sean.m.kelley1@us.army.mil I will be glad to answer any questions about anything. If you want to know more about what we are doing, about my career in the army or my deployment as a Medic to IED Alley in Iraq. I will share anything you would like to know. I see this as a chance of a lifetime and I want to make it the best possible and also I know that I can help set it up for Gordon to help ot other soldiers for years to come. I know that times are tough for most all of us. but if you have a few bucks to help us out I would appreciate it more than you could ever know. Just shoot me a PM or email and I will give you a paypal or physical address. I also want to thank KillerFly for letting me know about this site and thread. Thank you all!

Grey
