We Right-Wing Extremists

TacShot started a topic elsewhere, but I thought I'd move my comment over to the "Off-Topic" area because it isn't directly related to firearms. Here is TacShot's eloquent opening:
TacShot wrote:I recently found out I am a Right Wing Extremist, as defined by Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security. I'm trying to figure out what tipped her off; my attendance at church, my voting record, the flags on the front of my house, the fact that I belonged to the Boy Scouts of America (an obvious anti-gay militia), belong to the NRA, served in the military, or am married to the opposite sex. If the truth be known, I'm surprised I got away with so much for as long as I did.
This next one has been nagging at me for a few days. I'll let it speak for itself (misanthropomorphication intended). Keith Olbermann had Janeane Garofalo on his show on April 16, in leftist response to the "teabag" rallies the day before:

<sarcasm>
When I seek definitive wisdom about world affairs, politics, history, psychology, sociology, physiology, and cerebral anatomy, I know that I, for one, always turn first to avowed atheist B-list actresses and second-rate comediennes. I mean, who else could possibly know more?
</sarcasm>

This woman graduated high school in Katy, Texas, believe it or not. On behalf of this Great State, I hereby disavow any ties to Texas she may claim now or at any time in the future.

Simply inconceivable that a person of such high openly advertised intellectual could think that the thousands of good Americans who participated in these events are racists. The left wing has absolutely no leg to stand on when it comes to describing the real reason for people becoming involved in protests so they immediately yell racism. I for one think that this poor young lady is the one with the mental problems, not to throw a childish remark back at her but this just what I have ascertained from listening to her comments. So out of touch and dare I say, DOWNRIGHT WACKO! WHAT A NUT! (for a lack of better words I would love to tell this fine young lady) :lol:: It's a good thing everyone doesn't think like her or we would be in a heap of trouble! :txflag:

Something drove me to transcribe some of Garofalo's comments. Perhaps because I simply couldn't believe them:
I didn't know there were so many racists left. I didn't know that. Because, you know, the Republican hyphen the conservative movement has now crystallized into the white power movement.

No no. Here's what the right wing...there's no shortage of the natural resource of ignorance, apathy, hate, fear. As long as those things are in the collective conscious and unconscious, the Republicans will have some votes. Fox News will have some viewers. But what else have they got? If they didn't do that, who's gonna watch...I mean they've attacked that elusive clam...er, clam, [stutter] you know, the 18 to 35 clam demo...klan, klan, with a "K" demo.

But you know, who else is Fox talking to? I mean what is it, urban older white guys. And the girlfriend--and, you know, the women who suffer from Stockholm Syndrome again. There's a lot of Stockholm Syndrome is what I'm saying, ultimately.
When you transcribe the words, Garofalo is revealed as one taco short of a combo plate.

Yet this gets presented as a serious news segment on CNN.

Lord help us.

I know nothing of Ben Stiller's politics.
I don't care.
he's funny, and obviously "knew" something was up when he dumped that "woman."

that's all I'm gonna say about "The Truth About Cats and Dogs..."

The irony of her pounding home the message of Stockholm Syndrome - in which hostages come to identify with their captors - is completely lost on her.

To be kind, I feel sorry for her. She's been exposed to a weird, pseudo-doctrine and bought it.

She apparently feels it her missionary like duty to air it whenever possible, unaware just how ludicrous she sounds.

Too bad. Politics aside, I've always liked her.

So now, another entertainer scolding Americans who don't agree with her "way, way out there dogma".

Her hectoring will simply turn away those that might otherwise watch her movies.

As for me, from this point she is "persona non grata".

I just wonder if Janeane Garofalo was born that stupid or if she had to practice.
