Hmmmmm..... Hillary's been telling me that 90% of the guns seized in Mexico came from the US. This story sounds more like what's already been posted here. An interesting read.

Interesting that the AR-15 platform can be modified to fire ".50 caliber, sniper rounds". I know of a few .50 AR's, but none of them can handle a .50BMG. The cartridge is too long for the magazine. Maybe they are referring to AR STYLE rifles, made specifically to fire the .50BMG? That would still make the story a lie. However, I appreciated the fact that they reported about 1/3 of the arms submitted were traced to US dealers, as opposed to Hillary's 90%. They did however, forget to mention that they only trace the weapons that are submitted to them, as opposed to all of the weapons. So, let's say that roughly 30% of the 10% they submit are traced to US dealers....that adds up to 3% of the total lot of guns. Add to that, the fact that the Mexican Govt is more than likely only submitting guns that they are relatively sure come from US dealers to begin with and it could be as little as 1% or less of the guns siezed actually came from the US! Now, don't quote me on numbers, I didn't actually do the math, just making a generalized statement about the fuzzy math that's going on here.

Granted, it converts your AR to a bolt action, and Hillary Clinton is still an idiot, but I'm just sayin'. . . .

In a reporter's mind, .50=sniper always, so how hard would it be for them to confuse two types of "powerful" ammo? We all know how good their knowledge of firearms isn't, so it's no great stretch for me to see them get that wrong. After a quick read, I noticed two other errors, too: "pistols hanging from their triggers" and the "9mm grenade launcher."

At least it's a glimmer of hope. A fairly accurate story from somewhere other than FOXNews. It means someone other than Rupert Murdoch is paying attention now!

UpTheIrons, I noticed those two issues as well, and knew about the .50 Beowulf, and that the reporters have virtually "0" knowledge of firearms. On the other hand, every reported I have ever met (more than a few) actually RESEARCHES the best they can to come up with the truth before submitting a story that's going to make them look like a fool. I don't believe, even for a second that the word sniper being thrown in there is an accident, or misconception. It is posible that the original writer wrote it well, and the editor decided to make it look more devisive by throwing in some buzzwords though. I just don't trust the media anymore, 90% of what I hear from this is half truths, or just flat out lies.
