I'm conflicted on this.
On the one hand, I'm very pleased the government is pursuing straw-purchasers. It does nobody any good if someone is illegally supplying arms to gangs in Mexico. Enforcing existing laws does work.
On the other hand, it's extremely frustrating to know the left is salivating at how they can use this type of incident to support future restrictions against law abiding citizens. When you enforce the law and law breakers get caught, there will invariably be somebody screaming "we must do more...for the children" in order to grab more power.
