How does the hearing work or does anyone know of a very good attorney in Denton? I have been charged with Family Vilolence. My son as a witness has told the DA that I was retreating and my wife attacked me.
Denton tends to be a pitbull on this.

If I take the deal how long do I have t wait to reapply?

As I recall, if you have a family violence conviction (even a misdemeanor), you've given up your right to own firearms permanently. No CHL, ever. Don't take the deal if it has anything about family or spousal violence. Don't get a good lawyer, get the best lawyer you can find!

:iagree: I belive what barres is implying is don't even be tempted to plea bargain to what you may be told is a "minor or harmless" misdemeanor. If you do you will live to regret it. IANAL, etc.

Update,

I want to that the person for recommending Beverly she recommended Wyatt Board Certified Criminal Law out of Dallas. The DA made me several plea deals that I would not accept, I am innocent of said charges and I refuse to plea to something that I did not do. I received the call that the DA has dropped all charges. I am very happy and I will say Wyatt is one hell of an attorney. If any of you have a criminal case state or federal I would recommend him he is the 1911 of attorney's The guy I hired prior to him wanted me to plea to a class B with all the fixens

Thanks

I want my CHL back..............................

Congrats. Great news. What is the attorney's name you worked with. I assume their last name is Wyatt? I'd like to add their card to my wallet!

I spoke to the women that handles the suspension and revocation letters and she gave e the number for the attorney that is handling my suspension in Austin. I was advised that I would have no issue having the license suspension lifted. ;-)

******************************Update**********************************
Case was dismissed Aug 24. I received the letter and my CHL in the mail Oct 17 ;-)

Now I did email suspensions dept. a PDF of the case and they forwarder it to the attorney assigned the case for the DPS. Yes your case is assigned to a DPS case officer-attorney and then he clears your license to be reinstated. Actually the people I spoke to are very professional.
