Delray Beach, Florida, this date -- A man went to a shooting range, rented a revolver, shot several hundred rounds at targets, then fatally shot himself in the head.
Police discovered a suicide note in his vehicle.

I have to wonder whether this is a random blip in a rare phenomenon, or what.

Apparently, that is the 3rd such incident this year at gun ranges in Florida. What's going on with people over there?!

Some people may be pushed over the edge by economic hardship, but statisticians have never been able to establish a link between the economy and the suicide rate.

Very disturbing...
IMO there are MANY recources to turn to when going through hard times, but to turn a gun on yourself??? IDK, it's like wiping b4 you poo... doesn't make sense...

Police announced that the man who committed suicide was from Quebec. They do not know why he traveled to Florida to kill himself.

Canada has strict "gun control" laws, but there are many ways to commit suicide with common items. A woman who had made previous suicide attempts simply walked into the ocean and drowned in Galveston a couple of weeks age.

i think i would find a more "peacful " way to go .
Perhaps that was what Michael Jackson thought also...i'm not making fun of his death, but it would not be surprising to me if he did go to sleep with no intention of ever waking up . you never know whats going on inside someones mind .

No...don't think drowning is a way to go. At some point your body forces you to breath...no matter how well you hold your breath...you body wants to breath and unfortunately...you will!
And no..suicide is NOT the way out..its a permanent solution to a temporarly problem..just like Chapter 7 is financial suicide.

Just for the sake of being macabre, there are ways to make it work, such as handcuffing a locked briefcase full of bricks to your wrist and throwing away the keys.
People drown all the time, both intentionally and accidentally. Rapid currents, low temperature, and darkness contribute to the rate.
I'm not going to discuss the morality of suicide, but it's better when the person doesn't make a mess or take others with him. I feel sorry for the families of people who do things like hang themselves or slit their wrists in the home.

Southeast Broward County---especially Hollywood Beach---has for years been a prominent haven for Quebecois snowbirds. I would be very surprised if it was the man's first trip there.

Broward County, Florida, is one of the most populous counties in the U.S., but it seems to have more than its fair share of bad karma and bad luck.

"A man shooting at a gun range on Tuesday decided to stop aiming at a target and start aiming at his head, police said. He didn't miss."
That's a pretty glib and insensitive way to begin a report about a suicide. I hope the paper's editor and this reporter are at least talked to about such tastelessness.
