Gov. Rick Perry is calling Texas lawmakers back to Austin for a special session to try again to pass legislation that will keep major state agencies running.
Perry announced Thursday that he's ordering a special legislative session July 1.

Now how do we go about trying to get some of our bill's to be considered? I know that lots of people have made calls, is there any other way to increase the pressure in a polite but firm way?

The news report listed 4 or 5 items up for consideration. I wonder if those are the only items that will be considered, or is there more? If so, is the entire agenda of the special session published, and where?.....or is it to soon to tell?

I sure would like to see it published someplace, and see campus carry and/or parking lot bill on it.

Call Speaker Joe Strauss' office and ask them to include the parking lot bill. Here is the link for the thread on the request http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 94&t=25800" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ok, I just got some very interesting info tonight...

If we can get this special session finished, and get TxDOT neutered enough to kill the TTC funding, I was told we can get the specific mechanisms re-routed from that project and kill it...If we can get that passed...I was told we should still keep the pressure on the governors office and the speakers office to call another special session to deal with Voter ID, and those gun bills that got killed in the regular session...

I would say we should keep the pressure on, let them get the TxDOT thing done, and then really put the screws on them about the our bills...

That Voter ID is a key deal that needs a full court press...The Campus Carry and Employer parking lot bill should be given a fair chance in that event...

Keep the pressure on, keep the pressure on, keep the pressure on!!!

Call the Governors office, Call the G's office, call the G's office!!!

Looks like they got one in...

The Employer Parking Lot bill lives...

HB12 in the house...Reps Frost and Hughes stepped up...

SB13 in the Senate...This one was introduced by Senator Hagar...

Need to thank them for this!!!

Didn't they adjourn the special session yesterday? At least that was what I read earlier today on our local news channel webpage:

http://www.wfaa.com/sharedcontent/dws/w ... 01274.html
AUSTIN – State lawmakers quickly wrapped up a two-day special session Thursday by approving $2 billion in highway bonds and extending the operations of five agencies – but they spiked Gov. Rick Perry's continued push for toll roads.

I'd keep burning up the governors phone lines...

He needs to call another special session to get our bills and the Voter ID bill done...

Then he can start campaigning...He's going to need plenty of ammo this time, and this may help him out if he does it...
