At a shooting range in Missoula, Montana, yesterday, a man died of a self-inflicted wound from a rifle. Police are not sure if the incident was an accident or intentional suicide.
The operator of the range said that it was the first fatality in the 71 years that the range his been in operation.

These incidents seem to be becoming more frequent. I wonder if the increase is caused by the number of newbies buying firearms for the first time.
The rate of firearms accidents was reduced more than 50% during the 20th century.
