1974 - President Richard Nixon announced his resignation on nationwide TV. He formally resigned the next day.

I pirated those photos from classified ads. I don't currently own a horse. I did for decades, but the last one died of old age last year. - Jim

Also on August 8, 1973, Dean Corll, one of the most vicious serial killers in U.S. history, was fatally shot by one of his criminal accomplices, Wayne Henley, in Houston. Henley promptly spilled his guts. Corll may have killed 27 boy and young men after torturing and sexually assaulting them. Bodies were found in Houston and eastern Galveston County.

Only the bodies that Henley knew about were recovered. There was evidence that Corll had been killing for years before he was stopped.

I had completely forgotten about this incident.
