Packet Loss means restart?

as I was sealing my packet to submit, I was thinking about a hypothetical lost application. Would I have to start from scratch or could my records from the TR100 work?

Make copies of everything before you seal it up.

Send the packet "return receipt requested" so you can be sure they received it.

That SHOULD alleviate your worries.

Ya know, I saw the title of this thread and I thought it was gonna be a network question. As in... "I have a 35% packet loss, should I restart my router?"

Too much training... too few brain cells. Carry on.

Don't worry, I thought the very same thing.

Just drop the stinkin packet in the mail.

I don't get the whole return receipt thing other than you have one other piece of info that is going to piss you off just a little bit more on your wait for your license.

Everyone on this forum is saying, "I have the return receipt to prove XXXx". There is no need to prove anything. They are taking forever to process applications. Return receipts are not a ticket to make them act faster.

Save the buck and use it to buy 2 rounds of practice ammo. Or put it in the holster fund.

Proving when they got it is not the reason. Sending certified gives peace of mind knowing it made it to them ok. It's for your benefit, more than anyone else. As far as another piece of paper to make you mad, then by all means DON'T send it certified. Something like that shouldn't make you mad.

And as far as saving a buck? It cost me (cringe) $6.66 to send it certified, return receipt. But I have peace of mind knowing it made it ok, plus the benefit to see the time line on the entire process.

Good luck to you and I hope your wait isn't long.

In the job I work I send large amounts of money via check all the time in the US mail. Four figure checks are 'small'. I usually send 3-10 checks a day.

Number of checks lost in the mail over the past three years ->2.

I trust our postal service at getting things basically right more so that I trust dps at processing applications in a timely manner.

In addition or just an fyi. I have been to court where the judge did not admit a postal item as mailed via certified mail. When it comes to things important, even if there is no associated value, registered is where it's at.

Also, we get hundreds of pieces of mail a day where I work, lots of it is certified, and it just sits in the pile till someone gets to it.

Have you ever seen an IRS mailroom or loading dock? (note that I don't work for the IRS, but you get the drift).

Anywhoo...maybe I am just a tad crabby from waiting. :reddevil
