The above is a link to an 8/28/09 DMN article. I post this as an example of how people in
trouble need to do any seemingly crazy thing to get away from bad guys.
Summary: A 15 year old girl brought sex-related charges against a 45 year old man.
The man recruited some people to kidnap the now-16 year old and her mother, in order
to prevent their testimony.
They were shown fake ICE badges, handcuffed in North Dallas, and bundled into a Lincoln
Continental 4 door. They headed southbound on I-35E, then continued on I-35.
By the time they reached Austin (about 200 miles) they knew the kidnappers weren't really
LEO's. The handcuffed mom climbed into the front seat and headbutted and kicked the bad
guys so they could hardly drive. When they pulled over the mom escaped and got the Austin LEO's
to put out a broadcast.
Shortly after, the Hays County Sheriff's Dept arrested the bad guys. The girl was unharmed.
The mom showed warrior spirit while handcuffed. She didn't give up and things worked out just
peachy.
