One man bit off part of another man's finger when a health care reform demonstration turned violent.

William Rice said doctors did not reattach the bitten-off part of his left pinky after he got in the middle of a Southern California rally Wednesday night that he said was "very scary."

Ventura County sheriff's spokesman Eric Buschow said a confrontation erupted after the biter crossed from the MoveOn.org side of the street to the counterprotest, where Rice was standing.

Rice was treated at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center. The top joint of his pinky, including his whole fingernail, was severed, hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman said.

She said his treatment was covered by Medicare.

Now if that man had an AR-15... he might still have his full finger. Doesn't seem like the MoveOn guy would have been yelling in his face if he were armed. (Granted, I didn't catch where this happened and which laws apply)

The biter went to talk to the bitee after the bitee tried to force one of the female protesters (who was trying to leave the protest) into the street and into traffic.

The bitee punched the biter in the face & knocked him into the street. When the biter got back up, the bitee tried to punch him again & got his little finger bit in the process.

Personally, I think they both handled the situation poorly to say the least. Plenty of stupidity to go around.

Anyone else notice that the real violence being committed is being accomplished by the supporters of government run and managed healthcare in this country...SEIU, ACORN et. al.

Either by bussing it in, or they just show up...

The people opposed to all of this government intrusion are only yelling and screaming...Or reacting to the violence or potential violence directed at them...

I really hope this stops before someone is killed...
