It's an interesting idea but I don't agree with their methodology. This is how they mapped the sins.

Greed - Average income compared with number of people living below the poverty line.
Envy - Total thefts (robbery, burglary, larceny, and grand theft auto) per capita.
Wrath - Number of violent crimes (murder, assault, and rape) per capita.
Sloth - Expenditures on art, entertainment, and recreation compared with employment.
Gluttony - Number of fast-food restaurants per capita.
Lust - Number of STD cases reported per capita.
Pride - Aggregate of the other six offenses—because pride is the root of all sin.

What about using different statistics for mapping the sins?

Greed - Total dollar value of thefts (embezzling, fraud, ponzi schemes, robbery, burglary, etc.) per capita.
Envy - The number of people complaining about others' high income or complaining about disparity in income between different careers, etc.
Wrath - Number of violent crimes (murder, assault, robbery, mugging, abuse, rape, riots, etc.) and lawsuits and yelling and honking horns and political protests per capita.
Sloth - Percentage of people living on welfare, pensions, family money, etc. compared with employment.
Gluttony - Actual obesity rates would be better than counting restaurants, but don't forget that gluttony isn't limited to food.
Lust - Don't stop with STD stats. What about abortions, birth control, porn, and politicians with prostitutes?
Pride - A big dot at Kansas State. Or maybe count the "My child..." bumper stickers.
