Ft Worth Zoo carry??

I can't seem to find the firearms policy for the Ft Worth Zoo on their website. And a search here on the board turned up zero.
Anybody know if it's ok to carry into the Zoo?
Thanks!

They are 30.06 posted but there is some debate on if it's legal or not. Seems like it is owned by the City of Fort Worth and leased to a private company. The 30.06 sign is legal I just don't know if it's enforceable, I left my 1911 in the truck I would hate to lose my card because I "thought a sign was not legal" but concealed means concealed and they do not have metal detectors.

They are 30.06 posted AFTER you buy your ticket and enter the gates.
Ditto on what was said, the land is owned by Ft. Worth but leased to a private company. At the same time, they also claim to be a "School".
There is another thread on this forum with a longer discussion. The current status on
http://www.texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is unsure.

Concealed means concealed. I ask myself how I would feel and what I would think if I disarmed because I was bluffed only to fall into a situation where I needed my gun. The fact is that until we get a test case on that place we will not know for sure how the law will be applied.
I do not want to be a test case for anything but I carry to save myself and other innocents. So, to so easily disarm because of a "could be" when I know the risk and think the law is on my side would be some kind of cowardly for me. I don't have the money or time to deal with a corrupt system persecuting me. I also don't have another life here if I lose this one. The land is owned by the city so 30.06 should not be enforceable. Like always, we all have to do what we consider best.

Don't know if it is posted, but it is now privately owned. City sold it.

They didn't actually sell it, they have just outsourced the management and operations. Sounds like they will be in the same arrangement as the Ft. Worth Zoo, so again, status will be questionable if they decide to post.

The Dallas Zoo will no longer belong to the city of Dallas come October, under a 25-year, $337 million agreement approved unanimously Wednesday by the City Council.
The zoo's animals, employees and management will transfer to a private entity controlled by the nonprofit Dallas Zoological Society, which for years has provided critical fundraising support and developmental guidance for the Oak Cliff institution.
The city will maintain ownership of the land the zoo sits on and its physical exhibits.
The article is a little confusing, but typical for the morons at the Liberal Morning News.

Per the article the land and buildings will still belong to the city, so they still can't be posted with enforceable 30.06 signs.

Perfect answer. I'll be carrying at either zoo, regardless of these signs.

Just be aware, the Ft. Worth Zoo's public relations person previously replied with a letter stating they were a school, which would make them off limits to CHL's.
There is debate on whether or not they're an actual school, but they're at least replying to letters saying they are.
"The Fort Worth Zoo is registered with the State of Texas as an
educational facility. As such, we are simply abiding with the law in
posting the No Firearms signage. I understand your frustration, but
sincerely hope this regulation does not prevent future visits to the
Zoo."

I think I would question them actually being a school. IANAL, but we have discussed this before. Unless they are listed as a Public School
here, a Privately Accredited school
here, then IMO they are NOT a school by the definition listed in the statute (colleges/universities excluded.) I would like to know what they are deeming as 'educational facility'. They may be listed as an approved location for field trips, etc, but a school does not that make in my eyes.

I agree wholeheartedly, and have carried there because 1) I don't think they're a school, and 2) they can't legally post a 30.06.
PS. Concealed is Concealed

Thanks for all the input. We went to the Zoo yesterday. I ended up reluctantly leaving my CCW in the truck but after seeing the 30.06 sign I won't leave it in the truck on the next visit.
This is the sign in question. It is about 75' from the ticket booths and about 25' from the actual gate to enter the park. You can see it from the gate but can't read it.
