OK, in about 2 weeks the family and I are going to Oktoberfest in Fredricksburg ( staying in Kerville ) I plan on bringing the 9mm as it is MUCH easier to CC then the 45. But I wanted to find out if ( last year ) anyone carried at Oktoberfest? I went last year but did not have my license and was not looking for 30.06 signs.....
Anyone know of any specific places you cannot carry in these areas? I seached texas3006 and saw a few entries for Kerrville, none for fredericksburg.....
TIA

As I recall there are no 30.06 signs posted but there are always a few LEOs hanging around the entrance. I never carry because I always sample the brewskis. I just normally leave my handgun at the B&B...

Can you walk the streets (area?) while drinking? If so it's probably a blanketed 51% area. I ran into this problem at Night in Old In San Antonio, it was a long walk back to the car.

Thanks for the help guys! I plan on arriving during opening and leaving after lunch and leave to the hotel...I will be with the wife and kids and beer will not come into the picture untill around dinner.....
If I remember right, people were not allowed to take beer outside of the fenced area of the actual Oktoberfest, and other places offered beer but you had to stay inside on on their "porch" i do not think ( could be WAY wrong ) that you are officially allowed to walk around with beer......

I have been to the Fredericksburg Octoberfest every year since 2002. You can walk around downtown with a beer because I have seen tons of people do it (have done it myself a few times). If you are in the Octoberfest area though, you cannot leave the grounds with beer (the LEOs stationed at the entrance will make you pour it out or drink it before exiting).

Hmmmm... I will have to ask my sister since she is a county deputy up there. Not sure how they handle it.
