Neilp's Wally Walk

As my CHL arrived today I made the traditional trip to the local Walmart. I've seen pictures requested before so I took a few with my phone. So the quality isn't great but here they are:

Shower. Check. Brushed teeth. Check.

Bersa 380 with 8 rounds of JHP. Check! And yes it is true cameras add 30lbs. Who knew it? ; -)

Yep it's a Walmart

And it has an ammo shelf.

After checking that there was no ammo in a caliber I use (no surprise!) I did some grocery shopping and I also found a belt that will help keep 20+ozs of pistol in place a little better. They had a Dickies branded belt that was nice and thick for $12. Probably not as good as a purpose built gun belt but this price point works for unemployed single parents!

As this Walmart has no eating facilities (what's up w that?!) I decided I should visit the next door Jack in a Box on the way home to complete the festivities. I forgot to take a pic there though.

All in all a fun experience. No problems reaching for items on shelves. No undue attention from anyone.

Congrats on officially becoming a "pistol packin' papa"!

I'm glad you have managed to find at least 8 rounds of .380! :-)

Better days are ahead for ammo availability. Now that the makers
seem to be producing a lot more 9mm, .40, and .45 then maybe .380
production can go up.

SIA

The upside of having been laid off is that I have plenty of time to hunt down affordable ammo! I've found that calling every Academy store in town early in the morning will yield some 380 ammo after a few days of persistence.

I have the same belt. It works great. I see no point of spending $100 for a belt. That Dickies belt is as thick as any "gun" belt I've seen. And for $12, you can't beat it.

Welcome to the club. :cheers2:

Thanks for all the replies. Two more trips out today. I'm getting used to it.

Beiruty: I am right handed it's the mirror thing as C-dub stated.

Navy Chief: I've been looking for a job since I was laid off in January. Not much hiring going on in my field (software sales)

USA1: The Dickies belt was at Walmart, in the Mens clothing section. They had a much better belt selection that in the past. Several were two layers thick, the belt that I bought is working well so far.

WalMart. It is a reversible belt, considerable thicker than all the other belts they have.
