In Mesa (Phoenix area), Saturday, a woman was shot but not seriously injured by a bullet from a handgun at a vendor's table.

Looked at a gun last week at a gun shop. Not an Academy type...but a sports (fishing and guns) store. Not the reugular guy behind the counter. He handed me the gun without checking the chamber. I took the gun from him and noticed the darn thing was cocked. I looked at the price (a diversion from my real intention to get away from him) and hand the gun back. That was the only gun I looked at there and was NOT going to ask to see another.

Notice that when you hear of these occurrences, it's always a vendor?

Over the years, I've been in attendance when there were three discharges, all by vendors.

Doesn't even draw much attention. If I wasn't bleeding, I just kept on looking at guns.

The only exception I can recall is the licensee that fired his Glock at George R. Brown a while back.

I clear again between people...everytime. It shows me and it shows THEM that it is clear. Everytime...and I have yet to be shot by an unloaded gun. Everytime...without exception.

I clear b/w people also and I feel a lot better if they check and clear when they take possession. Teach the same process to my daughter. She gets it! :thumbs2:
