I love it. They should have done all three to him - beat the snot out of him and tape him to the flagpole until the police arrived to arrest him.

If he had taken the option to fight, could the VFW have been charged with "assault with a deadly veteran"?

I like the fact that he was:
A) given options, and not subjected to vigilante justice
B) the town stood behind its VFW
C) he may have learned a valuable lesson
