Details are sketchy right now. The theft was just discovered. Looking for a good deal on ammo? If it's to good to be true, it's probably hot.
"The Dallas Police Department is investigating the apparent theft of 38 cases of ammunition from the department's storage bunkers."

I'm thinking you won't be alone. I would bet there will be something of a police presence and they will be asking a few questions if they find anything that looks familiar.

Not sure what their policies are on logging ammo, but we used to buy in bulk log lot numbers from the cases. If DPD does this, maybe the BG's would be just stupid enough to not try and re-package it sell it in the original shipping containers.

Unless the thief is a complete moron, that ammo will be resold in places like Phoenix and Las Vegas.

Either that or they think the Pasadena (TX) show this weekend is far enough from Dallas - you did say moron.

38 cases of ammo worth $3,800 breaks down to 11 boxes of rifle ammo and 27 boxes
of pistol ammo.
The DPD spokeman believes it's an inside job. If the cops want to solve this, it seems
like it should be a slam dunk since they have surveillance cameras on the site.

38 cases would last me a few weeks if I were able to shoot as much as I wanted. I would even get me a 357 sig. I wouldn't sell any of it.
Wait, the only reason I don't shoot as much as I want is because of ammo availability and cost.
nevermind. I was never here.........
