Ruger 380 LCP Pocket Carry

I see a lot of discussion on concealed carry "printing". I recently purchased a Ruger 380 LCP. Is pocket carry the best option to avoid printing? Just how unobvious does the pistol have to be to avoid detection, and preventing an incident? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum scramble.
Unless you have really tight pants on, the pistol should be unnoticable. One note, I recommend carrying in a pocket holster that covers the trigger. That is a big safety addition and will also aid in concealing the outline of the gun.

on the pocket holster. I have never tried it, but I have read good things about the Desantis "Nemesis."

I pocket carry a Kahr PM9 in one and it is great. If you wear dockers or slacks, I would recommend getting the Desantis Super Fly as it holds in your pocket better when drawing.

Welcome!
I will chime in on the Desantis Nemesis. I also use one for a Kahr PM9 and I like it a lot.
What I have read, noticed and experienced is that it would take a trained eye to notice mild printing. Most people who do not have a CHL or do not know what to look for when it comes to carrying a concealed handgun will never know. That being said, the discussion always defaults back to the old adage of "concealed means concealed!"

I use a Nemesis with my LCP and love it. Highly recommended, and perfect for pocket carry!

I've been carrying one of my LCP's in a Nemesis since last September and really enjoy it.

same here. i just wouldn't feel right without it.
what i really like is that you can casually have your hand in your pocket with full grip and ready to draw .
the BG would never see it coming .

I had originally wrote that same thing in my earlier post, but decided to delete it before submitting it for some reason. But that's a real value of a pocket pistol, you can casually have it in full grip and ready to go, which can be quite comforting when you're in a "code orange" situation.

I bought my wife an LCP "kit". The "kit" came with the LCP, an extra magazine, a gun rug, and a Desantis Nemisis (Ambidextrous) N38BJ3Z0 pocket holster. I have done quick-draw practice with the pocket holster several times, both left- and right-handed, and found it to work well. The holster material grips the pants material and the extended 'finger' on the holster catches on the pocket, thus retaining the holster in pocket and allowing the pistol to slip right out. It has worked very well for me.

I carry my wifes LCP from time to time when it is more conveniant than my PF9. I bought a leather pocket holster off Ebay from a guy in Bastrop, Tx that makes them and it works very well. It looks like a wallet in my back pocket no printing at all.

i played with the idea of back pocket carry , but i'm afraid that sitting on the gun over time could be bad for it .
i'm not a feather weight.

Yes I can see where you sit on it, bend the barrel and it affects the accuracy.
