Governor Rick Perry's 74 year old cousin was shot to death by Montague County, TX deputies at
his home in Nocona Hills. The story doesn't actually shed much light on the details of the confrontation.

A deputy was shot in the hand.

Rick Perry claimed not to know his cousin too well. But this cousin was listed on Governor Perry's
steering committee or some such, from a recent election campaign.

Notice that the call to 911 was made at 843 PM and the cops responded at 900 PM. Wow, a 17
minute response time.

Montague County, Texas' northern border is the Red River, separating TX from Oklahoma.
Locals pronounce the name of their county as "Monn-tayg", not the
"Monnta-gyu" which non-locals may assume.

While you can't pick your family or your neighbors :leaving , you can pick your friends.

This story is way too short on facts to know anything other than a man died. Usually there is some explanation along the lines of pointed a weapon, reached for his waistband, had something shiny in his hand, etc.

If the deceased had not been Governor Perry's relative, the story would have been insignificant.
