Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace prize and I’m still reeling at the shock. Most of us are, I should think.
Here are my theories as to how it might have come about:
1. Unlike in most of the rest of the world Øbama Køøl Aid (TM) remains Oslo’s most popular beverage.
2. The Norwegian prize committee’s sense of irony is growing ever more sophisticated, as it hinted when it gave the prize in 2002 to comedy ex-president Jimmy Carter, and hinted more strongly when it gave the prize in 2007 to climate-fear-promoting comedy failed-president Al Gore.
3. The other candidates on the shortlist were Robert Mugabe; Osama Bin Laden; Ahmed Jibril; and the late Pol Pot.

I think I liked it better when we were leaders of the free world, the wealthiest nation ever. capitalism was considered a good thing. and the rest of the word hated our President because he insisted that were powerful guided by morallity.
Obama has made our dollar as stable as the Mexican Peso and is setting us on the path of submission to other nations. The Pulitzer prize people are impressed at his progress in 9 short months.. He has succeeded where Khrushchev and chairman Mao have failed in turning us into a 2nd rate nation.

What little prestige the award retained after being awarded to Carter and Gore has just been totally wiped out by the committee's selection of Obama, who in 9 very long months has kow towed to virtually every tyrant and despot on earth, failed to achieve a single step toward peace anywhere on the globe, and made the most powerful nation on the planet an impotent laughingstock among nations through lack of competence, leadership, morality, and courage. Apparently these "achievements" are the new criteria for the prize.

My gut-feeling is that folks like George Soros simply "contribute" to the Nobel Peace Prize trust with specific recommendations for awards.

What's particularly disturbing, from the standpoint of the continuing legitimacy and meaning of a Nobel prize, is that Obama became President less than 2 weeks before the Nobel nominating deadline. So what exactly did he accomplish for "Whirled Peas" in that week and a half?
I was just watching Chris Wallace speaking on Fox News a little bit ago, and he said that, basically, Obama got the Nobel prize for not being George Bush. Ever since they awarded the prize to Jimmy Carter and Al Gore, the Nobel committee has demonstrated that it is not without a strong socialist agenda. I pretty much automatically discount as a lightweight whomever it is awarded to these days.

The Nobel Peace prize lost a lot of luster when they awarded it to Carter and his terrorist buddy Arafat.
It was further devalued when they gave it to Gore.
As of today, it is essentially worthless.
Nothing to see here, move along

I found this quote in an article...
"Rather than recognizing concrete achievement, the 2009 prize appeared intended to support initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change."
He got this "Prize" for potentiality - rather than actuality! This is sham!

The really pathetic aspect of this is that the nomination period ended TWO WEEKS after he was elected. This was well before he actually took office. What "peace" could he have possibly implemented or even affected? The Nobel Peace Prize has finally been rendered completely pointless.

It was bought and/or reserved for him.

The Nobel is a tool of socialist propaganda and Obama is their poster boy.
Next election he'll be gone.
I know the damage he's doing now is painful, but hang in there, a great many of his efforts can and will be reversed.
We survived Carter and we'll survive Obama.
