How many times do you check the site?

So, how many times a day do yall check the website, email, and call the DPS to check your status? I have a desk job and am at a computer all day long and I am not a patient person as it is so I have a real hard time not checking 10-12 times a day to see if the status has changed on the website.

Oh gosh, and I thought I had it bad! Don't feel guilty for checking multiple times per day.

I had my PIN issued when I applied online and received the application packet back in June. I didn't check the website until a few days after DPS received my packet. Then I started checking 3-4 times/day. That was around Aug.20. I knew nothing much would happen for a few weeks.

In early September I started checking more often. Maybe 5 times/day. After day 30 of "processing application" I checked maybe 6 time/day. When Oct.1 came around, that's when I went beserk checking. I lost count.

When I reached day 45 of "processing" I was checking it seems every other hour, when I was awake.

Don't expect anything to happen for 30 days after you turned to "processing application". It's happened to others, but only a VERY few. 45 days would be more like it. For some unknown reason, it takes longer for others.....

Probably because of the # of times they moved their residence, or changed jobs, or work in a different county than they live, or the complexity of their background check(arrests, etc). I called only 1 time since I submitted my application checking on the status, and didn't email at all.

Up until about 2 days ago...I was checking about 3 or 4 times a day. After I discovered that you can stay "logged in" and hit the refresh button...I now have been checking 6 to 10 times a day

I did send an email last week, requesting a status update...response indicated they were still working through the background check...haven't called and/or emailed since then.

I checked 3 or 4 times per day until it went to "processing" (yesterday). Now, I'll only be checking at about 5pm every day (excluding weekends of course). When you get right down to it, there's really no point in checking any more often than that.

I recall reading that the DPS web site is updated daily starting @ midnight each day.

So, based on this info, IMHO, checking the status more than once per day is a waste of time. Unless... someone here can confirm that their status in the morning was "Processing...", and then, upon checking later the same day, it changed to "Certificate Active, blah blah blah".

from reading many claims of people saying they checked their status at one point in the day , and then checking later to find their status had changed to "complete"

maybe some of those people can chime in to confirm this . ;-)

Thanks for the quick responses USA1...

Indeed, hopefully someone with first hand experience will chime in here. (Not that I don't believe you of course... ;-) )

I usually checked 3 times per day, once in the morning, once at noon, and once after getting home from work. On the day my status changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" sometime between checking around 8:00 am and about 1:00 pm when the status had changed.

I can confirm with absolute certainty that when i looked this morning for the first TWELVE times it said "APPLICATION PROCESSING". This afternoon it said "APPLICATION PROCESSING". However, I am convinced that for that hour that I was at lunch it said "Certificate Active"...obviously what i need to do is stop eating until it gets here!
