The above link details the use of facial recognition software by the FBI.
"Everybody's participating, essentially, in a virtual lineup by getting a driver's
license." said an ACLU attorney.
It seems ambiguous in the story that the FBI is using this, but since the FBI
can't collect and store the photos, they have delegated the N.C. DMV to do
some of the investigative work.
I believe that this facial recognition may be related to the European system,
developed to find known soccer hooligans in large crowds.

Since you're "on camera" several times a day in most big cities and their environs, such a tool, with significant computing power can be used to track, find, and signal the location of "persons of interest". I expect a large chunk of our change will go toward such an effort soon, if it hasn't already.

The software can track in real time a indivdual moving in a crowd. I meet one of the developers of software last year. So, big brother is watching you.
But this is not bad. They only watch the bad guys, ...right
