So, do updates occur throughout the day or is it a once a day posting process? In other words, could the status have changed in the afternoon after checking in the morning?

Yes, they can change any time of day, any day of the week, except Sunday(as far as I know).

Mine changed between 11am & 2pm. LIA'a changed sometime between 3 & 5 am, IIRC.

+1..as far as i can tell its completely spread throughout the M-S workweek
