Nice, very few had gold plated triggers. I have a '81 1894C in .357 Mag with the same trigger and smooth stocks like yours (no checkering).
If the first two numbers of the serial number are 21, then it was in fact made in 1979.
If the first 2 numbers are something else, you can just subtract them from 100 and you will have the year it was made (for mine made in '81 the first 2 of the serial are 19).
In case you do not know.....the Black & White bullseye looking thing in the lower edge of the shoulder stock is a marker that denotes the stocks are in fact solid walnut. Sometimes you will see these having been drilled out and swivel studs put into them. Some people thought that was what it was for!

Now THAT, I didn't know. It is amazing what I learn on this forum when it's a slow day at work.
Beautiful rifle. Wrong timing or I'd get it today.

Great info I'll check it when I get home tonight...I always thought the bullseye was a marker for the sling swivel as well.
Thanks for the info.

Nice piece of info, AEA. My 1894C .38/.357 was made in 1983.

What do they do if made in 2001 or more recently? Or do they not make them any more?

Good question... I don't have the answer handy. I presented that only for the older models.
I do have a 2009 that was just made and it's serial starts with 91. Even that new, if you subtract 91 from 100 you get "9" which is.............drum roll................
rim shot...................good for 2009!
