Masked Gunmen

A long time friend called me this afternoon. He and his son were eating in the Chinese
restaurant when the robbery took place. Check the following link for the story:

http://cbs11tv.com/local/masked.robbers ... 90392.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I can fill in a few missing details from my friends account to me.
The Restaurant? Mei Mei. A buffet style place. They did hear the gun shot in the kitchen.
A lone masked man entered the main dining area. He told everyone to get down. The masked
man then returned to the kitchen. My friend, his son, and other patrons, ran out the front
door. Called 911. Waited for police (which took about 10 minutes to show up for a "shots fired,
armed robbery" call). Believe it or not, a few patrons went back into the restaurant prior to
the police showing up.
Anyway, my friend is now wanting to get his CHL. Select a gun etc etc. Of course I will help
him any way I can..... interesting, exactly what situation a person has to face in
order to realize they are responsible for their own safety.

I also heard that BoBo China off Plano & 635 were hit
recently by this same crew of BG's. Anyone have details?

edit: there is a short video on the link page. upper right corner regarding these robberies

Chinese food really sucks cold. But hot, good Chinese is well worth the risk of getting shot.

Gonna have to disagree. I'd rather get shot than eat chinese food. :ack:

On a serious note, glad your friend and his son are all right. I rather imagine that was a pretty unsettling experience.

Is this the same crew of Restaurant Robbers as has been mentioned in the other thread?

Used to be a little Chinese place alongside I-59 on Chartres Street, East Side. Simple wooden chairs and tables. The cooks just got off the boat. Best won ton soup in the USA. Read in the Chomical recently where that area has been gentrified. Now it's late night coffee bars and sandwiches, with condos nearby. The idiots.

According to police, these guys have struck several other businesses in the last few weeks. I don't
think they limit themselves to strictly restaurants, though restaurants seem to be a favorite target.

It took a couple of seperate incidents to convince my wife that she needed her CHL, but she did get it last month. :txflag:
