Get ready to Gnash Teeth...

I've been pestering my buddy in Florida for quite awhile to get his CHL (or CWP or whatever they call it over there). About three weeks ago, he went to one of their (apparently) one-stop places, got his fingers electronically scanned, paid his $$, forked over a copy of his DD214, and filled out an app on the spot.
Yesterday he called me to tell me it came in the mail, and he had it in hand.
Three weeks.
Let the teeth gnashing begin....
but at least he got it. Now on to guns and holsters and such.

So at the moment he has a Conceal Wallet Permit?
3 weeks is very quick...is there no classroom or range qualification in Fla?

Heh. I'm going to razz him about the CWP. good one.
FL requires, as I understand it, that the applicant "Demonstrates competence with a firearm ..." There are CCW courses one can take in FL, but there are various other ways, like hunter safety courses and military training such. My buddy used his DD214.
Here's a link to their latest fastest procedure. Apparently three weeks was a long time for a FL license (
