Has anyone tried PMC brand 'non-toxic' small pistol primers?
With primers still hard to come by I'm willing to try brands I've not used before (PMC, Wolf) if I can find them.
thanks.

Once upon a time, I had a M-77 Ruger .22-250 that absolutely loved PMC factory loads above all others...if that's any indication of quality of the PMC brand. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for my small pistol reloading needs.

Thanks, I've used PMC ammo in the past without problem as well. However, none of it was 'non-toxic', so I know these primers contain a different compound.
I believe most 'standard' primers contain lead stephynate which is part of the source of airborne lead in indoor ranges.

I dunno' about all of that. My main concerns are:
1. they go bang
2. they are available
3. they are affordable
I grew up chewing on baby furniture and later toys that were coated with lead based paint and I'm still here.

I don't know about PMC but I have used a boat load of Wolf primers - - - good stuff.

There's a long thread here that doesn't say a lot of good things about PMC primers:

I think I'll stick to Win/Rem/CCI/Federal primers (assuming I can find some...).

Found 1000 CCI small pistol primers at Cabela's yesterday... I saw them on the shelf and the guy working said, no we don't have any, and I said, what are those, and he said "wow, first I've seen in months".

Since you mentioned it, I can add that I've used a few thousand Wolf small pistol primers with not a single failure as of yet. The bonus is that they tend to be significantly cheaper than certain other brands.

PMC primers should be as good as any other. They make lots of decent ammo. Wolf primers are GTG to and are preferred by some precision bench shooters.
