I live in a "nice" neighborhood with houses $200-500k. I thought I was safe until I looked at the sex offenders' registry. Over a dozen violent rapists and kiddie porn peddlers live in my neighborhood! Keep in mind that this is a very small neighborhood with about 300 houses. This means that less than 5% of my neighbors are rapists and child molesters! I invite you to look up your neighborhood:

You know, New York City parents had a riot when they were first forced to send their kids to Godless, state-ist public schools. Fear of God is good. God is everywhere and you cannot hide from God's judgement. Therefore, people with a religious upbringing will behave everywhere, even when no man is watching. State-ists do not believe in God because state-ists believe that the government (aka state) is top dog, not God. The problem with this is that the police cannot be everywhere at once. Therefore, state-ists will only behave when they believe they cannot get away with a crime. Otherwise, they are free to misbehave.

My theory is that state-ist public schools have spawned entire generations of sociopaths who will rape our wives and molest our children. Yes, you betcha that I "cling bitterly to guns and religion." Religion is what gives humanity our strong moral fiber and you might be surprised to find that a gun is the only thing protecting your family from state-ist spawned Godless folks who will rape our wives and children, just as long as they believe they will not get caught by the state.



P.S. Yes, I agree with you guys. I am over-generalizing and my rant certainly doesn't apply to all situations. The point is that state-ists want to control you to the detriment of increased crime. Even atheists can be "religious" as they have a "church" of their own. Instead of the state teaching your kids right from wrong and doing a dismal job most of the time, WE as parents should teach our own kids. Even animals have better sense than humans. I mean, you don't see chickens packing their kids to go get educated by snakes (polititians).

That is a pretty broad generalization. The majority of public school students are good kids. I have seen just a bad a kids that were raised in parochial schools. It falls back on parents, and the upbringing and morals started at home that will guide the kid more-so than their exposure at school. I have seen situations where home schooled and kids schooled in small private schools were so out of touch with society and social skills, that when released into the main stream they were not able to cope and ended up as sociopaths.

So, don't I don't blame the schools as much as I blame the parents for not working to raise a well rounded and religiously grounded child.

Keith - I agree with you completely. Just because a kid is raised in a parochial school doen't make them a little angel. I have seen some real little jerks come out of the parochial system, in fact they seem to be even more cliquish than the public school kids. I've had three kids go through different combinations of parochial / public schools. The oldest boy went kindergarten through high school in parochial school, my daughter went through parochial school until her senior year in high school and my youngest son went kindergarten through eigth grade parochial and then public high school.

There were some adjustments to be made by the two that switched from parochial to public school but I think in the long run it help them deal with situations better than the one that went 100% parochial.

As far as schools are concerned, I taught many great students during my nine years in the classroom. Many were Christian teens that would talk about Jesus openly and boldly.
The state may not welcome The Almighty in schools, but those filled with the Holy Spirit bring Him everywhere they go. That includes school.

As for where sex offenders reside, I'm not surprised. High socioeconomic status does not insulate one from evil.

We live in an area that has a low crime rate with nicer homes as well. Many of my neighbors let their five-year-olds play in the street without supervision. Mars and I will not.

Don't forget: 5% - only the ones that got caught so far. How many might be lurking that we don't know about? As a parent of two little ones it freaks me out.

Nope, high dollar homes and neighborhoods are NOT immune to heinous crimes like murder and rape. A friend of a co-worker who lived in a half million dollar home neighborhood was raped by her neighbor!!! Actually, it's worse if the perpetrator of the crime is educated and intelligent. The creep sneaked up behind her by jumping the fence (he probably had boxes and/or a ladder on his side of the fence) and bashed her head in when she turned around to go back into the house after doing some yard work in the back yard. When she woke up, she found herself nude and sexually assaulted on the floor. The educated and intelligent perp was careful NOT to leave any forensic evidence. She also did not see his face. However, she knows it is him because he told her details about the inside of her home that he couldn't possibly have known unless he had been inside her home. He also taunted her with snide remarks about the rape whenever he "bumped" into her while she went out to check her mailbox. The cops refused to arrest him due to a lack of forensic evidence and because she did not actually see him commit the rape (he knocked her unconscious from behind).

You know, so many suburbanites are soft, and clueless. They are ill-prepared to defend themselves from evil and they ridicule those who do prepare. I would often hang out in South Dallas to eat barbecue from such tasty places like Brothers Barbecue or Hardeman's. South Dallas residents are a lot more street smart than happy and clueless suburbanites. For example, a South Dallas momma shopping at the local Minyards will clutch her purse like her life depended on it. A suburbanite would do stupid stuff like put her purse in a shopping cart, then turn around to do something else while her purse is unattended behind her. South Dallas homes have bars on their windows. Suburbanite homes have easy to break plain glass windows.

One time, my neighbor's kids were walking with a strange man. They were walking towards a car parked down the street. The kids looked reluctant to go with him. The kids were struggling. I thought that it was suspicious that the car was not parked directly in front of my neighbor's house. So, I drove my car onto the sidewalk in front of him and said, "Howdy, how're you doing (with a smile)?" I then asked him to identify himself. Refusing to identify himself, he smiled, said, "It's O.K." and continue to herd the kids towards his car by walking around my car. So, I call my neighbor on the cell phone and ask him about the guy. "Hey, don't harass my kids' therapist," he said, "why are you so paranoid? Nothing's going to happen to my daughters." The proper response is to THANK ME for being a concerned neighbor. Instead, he yelled at me and ridiculed me for being "paranoid."

The crime statistics for "rough" parts of town like Fair Park and Oak Cliff have LOWER crime statistics than many suburban neighborhoods. You might be surprised to find that it is because suburbanites are soft and clueless. You might be surprised to find that it is precisely this atitude that draws all the kiddie rapists into suburbia. Predators find suburban hunting grounds full of easy prey. No neighborhood is safe from predators. You might be surprised to find that the only thing that makes you safe is YOU.

First time I've looked at this site, thanks for posting it. Interesting the Risk Rating system. I have 4 in my zip one with High, 2 with Moderate and 1 no rating. Another reminder for me to never leave the house without a handgun!
