Dallas Robbers Using Laser Light To Scare Victims
Reporting
J.D. Miles
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
In the last 12 hours, three people in Dallas have experienced a terrifying sight.
They've seen a laser light on their body, followed by the appearance of four armed robbers.
Cecilia Khamis saw 'red' when she returned to her Audelia Road apartment from the grocery store Monday night.
A red object pointed at her head came from a laser sighted handgun held by one of four men. The robbers, who took Khamis' purse and car, are believed to have committed at least two other robberies at nearby apartment complexes.
The husband of one victim, John Lado, said "This is going make people kind of scared to leave or outside because you never know what's going to happen."
All of the victims reported seeing a laser light flashing at them as the robbers approached. Only one victim was physically harmed by the group.
The attack on Khamis, who emigrated from Sudan with her husband, left her uninjured but shaken. "I'm scared even when my husband gets out I lock the door all night. I don't sleep. I'm shaking," she said.
