First Carry Yesterday

The equipment: Kimber Crimson Carry II, Crossbreed OWB
Clothes: Jeans, t-shirt, pull over sport shirt.
I hit Best Buy, Vision City, Zales, Office Depot and Hobby Lobby. I was concerned about printing but after talking to several folks at various places and constant tugging at my shirt, it seemed no one noticed. I was just another face in the crowd. No pix, my belly kept getting in the way.

Congrats, but I saw nothing about the Wally Walk. You're not truly initiated into the club without one. :woohoo

Congrats RocTrac !
Great choice of gun for your first time out. :thumbs2:

The "worrying about printing" thing wears off pretty quick. Just be careful when reaching up not to let your cover garment
ride up over your gun .
That happened to me but I noticed it right away , otherwise I would have been open carrying through the store.

The concern of printing is highly over rated as you have noticed. Out of sight out of mind.

Good job! :thumbs2:

Doesn't matter. Wally Walk is required by state law :biggrinjester:

But Wally World is Arkansas based. This surely cant be a Texas law. :rules:
Went today for my eye exam and this time slacks and a crossbreed supertuck. A bit more uncomfortable when sitting or driving. Hit the bank and got diesel as well, so far so good.

Congrats on the new license!

Don't worry, the shirt-tugging urge will go away after a while. It is a good way to spot a new CHLer, I've found. Luckily, as far as I can tell, only CHLers look for it. As long as your rig and dress fits you, you'll get accustomed to being "dressed up", and you'll learn over time what works and what doesn't.

Congrats. Before long, it will be second nature to reach up to top shelves with your left hand (assuming you're right-handed), and to always bend with your knees, never your back, when you look at something on the lower shelves.

I was in the grocery store the other day and wanted to reach for some tonic water on an upper shelf. I could have gotten it ok but would have likely shown my IWB carry as it was pretty high and I needed both hands. After waiting hopelessly for some help to show up for several minutes, I improvised.

I pulled 3 cases of beer out of the cooler and stacked them on the floor in front of the shelves with tonic water. Climbed on top of them and could easily reach. Climbed down, placed in the basket and returned beer cases to the cooler.

So some times you have to improvise!

See, another example that beer is good. :cheers2: I am paying more attention to the shirts that I wear now, mostly how far they come down. Well, there are large pistol primers at cabelas. I gotta go and get some. :tiphat:

I think the majority of us walk through the same thing mentally when we all do our first carry. Like the others said, soon you will not even think of it! (but you should, can't be too careful ;-) )
