I do not watch nor do I like reality TV but I came across this... Is he a felon? If not can the judge do this legally?
A Pennsylvania judge has ordered that no guns be allowed at Jon Gosselin’s home after the reality television dad was seen shooting a loaded pistol at his Berks County house.
According to MyFoxPhiladelphia, Judge Arthur Tilson issued the order Thursday after photographers snapped the former “Jon and Kate Plus Eight” star carrying the gun and then shooting it on his estate.
Gosselin has also been ordered to register the pistol at a new address within 90 days.
It was the second legal hurdle for the 32-year-old father of eight in just a few days. Earlier this week, authorities ruled he could not make any media appearances for compensation without permission from the TLC network, which aired the show that made him famous.
Gosselin and estranged wife Kate are set to finalize their divorce next week.

You never know for sure. I don't know anything about this guy, but maybe Jon Gosselin is on probation for some other crime.

Pennsylvania has semi-registration, even though registration is specifically forbidden by state law. What they have instead is a dealer report of sale system, where FFLs send a report on all handgun sales to the state police. But if you move there, or buy a gun in a private transaction, there is no registration. There's not even any method available to do so, so I don't know how the judge expects Gosselin to comply.

Jon Gosselin has turned out to be a dork, but that is no reason to forbid him from owning a gun. He may even have a valid reason to carry one for his personal security. I bet there are plenty of nut jobs that send him hate mail and threaten him and his family.

Who knows if there is any truth to the portrayal of the judge's verdict or not. If the story is accurately reported it is probably just another instance of a nut case judge who does not understand that there *are* limits to their authority. Unfortunately Jon Gosselin does not make a very good test case. I don't watch reality TV or the hollywood type gossip shows but I have read enough in the mainline media to know that Jon Gosselin is just the gift that keeps on giving as far as making news regarding outrageous actions!

...was seen shooting a loaded pistol ...
I find it difficult to get a tight grouping with an unloaded pistol, but maybe he's got something new.
