I thought this might be interesting to kick around a little today...Noticing the elation that folks who get their "new" licenses in and all that...

Last time I renewed my permit, I took the required "all-inclusive" refresher course, and got off my packet to Austin the following Monday...

From mailbox to mailbox was about 17 calendar days, new plastic in hand, if I recall correctly...

Anybody else get a renewal that quick, or sooner???

I think somebody likes me in Austin???

Later,
Steve

I believe I am just a charming guy, who knows how to woo women...

Ask the wife-unit...She'll tell you I am a natural flirt...And sometimes I don't even know it...hehehe

Yeah...Come to think of it, I was probably lucky...

That is about the quickest turnaround time I have heard of. I renewed in January and have been wondering if the new license apps were thrown in with the renewals and every one just waits it out together of if renewals are handled seperately.

I now believe that the renewals are DEFINITELY handled seperately. New apps are running 5 to 7 months, door to door. I sent my packet in on January 12th and got my renewed license back today, March 11th. That ain't too bad I'm a thinkin'. :thumbs2:

But now I have ANOTHER question. This one looks a lot different from the old one. Do they all chanage in appearance each year etc or do the renewals always appear differently than the original license so LEOs etc and tell if you are a first time licensee.

THANKS!
