A man used a large rock to rob a Bellingham shoe store over the weekend, according to Bellingham police.

The man walked into the Red Wing Shoes store, 117 Telegraph Road, at about 4 p.m. Saturday just as an employee was closing for the day. The man told the employee "this is a robbery" and held a rock over the victim's head. The man took an undisclosed amount of cash and walked out.

Police were alerted to the robbery by a witness who was in the store's parking lot. Within five minutes of receiving the 911 call several Bellingham police officers found and arrested a suspect.

The suspect, 28, was booked into the Whatcom County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

The money taken in the robbery was recovered, police said.

My answer.... "Would you like to reconsider bringing that rock to a gunfight?"

This reminded me so I couldn't resist a couple Simpson's quotes:
Kang and Kodos: Your superior intellect is no match for our puny weapons!

Kodos: It looks like the Earthlings won.
Kang: Did they? Right now they have a board with a nail in it. But they won't stop there. Soon they will make bigger boards with bigger nails until they make a board with a nail in it so big it will destroy them all!

Anyone can walk outside and within minutes, get a hold of a deadly rock, no questions asked. Until the government does something to get these rocks out of the hands of Americans, these senseless crimes will continue. :anamatedbanana

It was taken as evidence and will be destroyed after the 2.3million dollar investigation is completed.

Reminds me of comedian Tim Wilson:

"Lotta these NRA types get their wives a small gun, 'something she can handle'. Heck, I married an Israeli woman. She can field-strip an Uzi in the dark. Tell you what, don't nobody throw rocks in our neighborhood!"
